Lastnight, when I went in to check my laundry I discovered, that my washing maching was not working properly. The clothes were soaking wet and I couldn't get the washer to drain. GREAT!!!! Why at Christmas do these things happen? Well, I went onto the internet and read that it may be something had gotten clogged in the pump of the machine. So, determined to give it a go, John and I manually scooped all the water out of the tub and set to work draining the water out of the hose. We checked the hose and it was clear, but we weren't exactly sure where the pump was, so we decided to leave it and just call a repairman. I love my husband, he is many wonderful qualities, but a Mr. Fixit he is not.
But this morning I went back on the computer and read some more and was sure I could do this by myself. I called my boss, who IS a Mr. Fixit, just to ask what he thought it might be. He agreed that it was probably a sock in the pump. He said it was quite simple to do. So I decided to give it a go. What harm was it going to do? If that wasn't the problem in the end then I would be no worse off, but if it was only a sock I would hate the thought of paying some repairman (or woman) $100 just for them to pull out a sock!!
And by golly, I did it!!! It was indeed a sock. I just finished giving it a trial run after putting the parts back together and so far so good! Yea me.
